Jennifer visits the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

This year was my fifth time attending Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and as always, I had a FANGTASTIC time! Usually when you wait to enter Magic Kingdom before the Halloween or Christmas parties it is absolute chaos, but not this year! This year there are clearly marked signs for those with party tickets and those with day tickets to Magic Kingdom so it didn’t feel as cramped. We got in line to be scanned at around 3:45 PM and were walking through Market Street Welcome at 4:05 PM! Arriving early to a Magic Kingdom Party is the KEY to having a successful night because you can get so much done between 4:00 PM, when you’re allowed in, until 7:00 PM when the festivities begin!

Something else that was new this year was Cruella welcoming guests at Market Street Welcome! More and more villains have come out of the woodwork this year at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party to interact with guests! With our favorite interaction being at Princess Fairytale Hall! Princess Fairytale Hall was probably the most crowded treat spot this year (with only a 5-minute wait) and for good reason. This is where you get to meet the Evil Queen and Maleficent, standing in front of Snow White and Aurora’s portraits of course! This was such a cool experience and will be your shortest character meet all night!

But if you REALLY want to see the characters up close you need to make sure you don’t miss Mickey’s Boo To You Halloween Parade, now starting an hour earlier at 8:15 PM for younger party goers! Weather permitting, 15 minutes before the parade is set to begin, the Headless Horseman makes his way through the parade route along with a narration of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. As the parade begins, you’ll see some rare and popular characters such as Mickey and friends, princesses, the iconic Sanderson Sisters, pirates, ghosts, villains and MORE! It’s my opinion to always go to the first parade of the night! You never know when a storm can roll into Florida so you don’t want to take the chance to miss this iconic parade!

In between trick or treating and riding rides you can either fill up on your candy, OR you can try some party exclusive food and beverage items! My favorites this year had to be the Minnie Witch Hat, Madame Leota Séance Candle, and the Tombstone Tart! But the treat most guests have been looking forward to this year has been popcorn and soda! Guests have been waiting in line for up to TWO hours to get their hands on the exclusive sipper this year from Sleepy Hollow. You can’t blame them, Minnie as Winifred Sanderson is adorable! I’m not one to go crazy over popcorn buckets, but we couldn’t resist leaving without this light up Mickey Jack-o-lantern bucket! Unlike the Winifred Sipper, the popcorn bucket has been spotted at a few different popcorn carts and has a MUCH shorter line. We bought our popcorn bucket from the popcorn cart near the bridges to Liberty Square and Adventureland and were able to watch the Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular while we waited!

Of course everyone loves a good fireworks show, I guess it’s a good thing Disney has some PHENOMENAL ones! Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular stars the Pumpkin King himself, Jack Skellington, as he takes his dog Zero and Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald trick or treating to an unusual house filled with Disney villains! Since this is the only fireworks show of the night, compared to the parade that is held twice a night and the Hocus Pocus stage show that has several showings throughout the night, you’ll only have one chance to catch this show, so take that into account! Of course everyone wants to see Jack on stage, but you don’t HAVE to be front and center to grab a good spot. The farther back on Main Street USA, the better! You’ll be able to see the castle, fireworks and the projections off the buildings! Lately I’ve actually seen guests watching the fireworks from the train station! Maybe I’ll try this hack on my next party or trip!

If you’re big Halloween fans and want an amazing, themed experience, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is definitely the way to go. You can get so much done from 4:00 PM until midnight and you’ll get some great character interactions and memories that will last forever! Even though the Halloween party is sold out for the 2024 season it’s not too soon to book for next year! An added bonus for traveling to Disney World in 2025 is FREE admission to one of Disney’s water parks on your check in day! I love traveling to Disney World for fall and would LOVE to help you with your spooky Disney World vacation next year! Let’s get together today and start planning!
